Much has been said about the youth vote over the past six months. There is a new army of young people who were just fourteen years old when the last election rolled into town. Most of them were  too pre-occupied with video games and the opposite sex to pay much attention. This time around however, they are of age to cast their own opinion. They fill in a dot that will help determine which man becomes the most powerful leader in the world. That's a lot to take in for an eighteen year old who's biggest decision previous to this one was which acne medication to buy.
You might think the young voter takes it lightly, but you would be mistaken. The young voter is one who is used to research and study and many of them put more effort into it than many adults. Some even took to the streets, exercising their right to free speech.
The buzz around young voters has been predominantly for the young, mild mannered Obama. Sometimes the buzz doesn't make it this far south. Only time will tell how the youth vote in Panama City effected the election, but however the chips fall it is good to see civic minded young people in the voting lines.
